Agrani Distribution Company Becomes Strategic Partner of Upay

Upay, one of Bangladesh’s leading mobile financial services (MFS) providers, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Agrani Distribution Company Limited, one of the country’s largest distribution companies, to expand its business operations nationwide.

The agreement signing ceremony was held on Thursday at The Westin Dhaka in Gulshan.

The agreement was signed by Shyamal B. Das, Managing Director of Upay, and Omar Faruk Chowdhury, Executive Director of Agrani Group, on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the agreement, Agrani Distribution Company Limited will serve as Upay’s strategic partner to manage and expand its Business-to-Business (B2B) operations across Bangladesh. The partnership is expected to strengthen Upay’s distribution network, accelerate business growth, and further expand the reach of its digital financial services throughout the country.

The signing ceremony was attended by Chowdhury A.H.M. Lutful Huda, Director of Agrani Group; Matiur Rahman, Executive Director of Agrani Group and former Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP); Hasan Mohammad Zahid, Deputy Director of Upay; and Sajjad Alam, Head of Corporate Sales at Upay, along with senior officials from both organizations.

Speaking at the event, the speakers emphasized that Agrani Group’s extensive industry experience, strong reputation, nationwide distribution capabilities, and operational expertise would play a significant role in supporting Upay’s continued business expansion. They expressed confidence that the collaboration would strengthen Upay’s B2B network, create new business opportunities, and contribute to expanding access to digital financial services across Bangladesh.

The officials from both organizations also expressed optimism that this strategic partnership would foster long-term collaboration and make a meaningful contribution to the country’s growing digital financial ecosystem and broader digital economy.
