State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque visits Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital's Kamalapur on Sunday.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque expressed his deep dissatisfaction over the extreme mismanagement and dirty environment of Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium at Kamalapur in the capital on Sunday.

After inspecting the stadium, he ordered the temporary suspension of administrator Shafi Kamal on charges of negligence in his duties.

During the inspection, the State Minister expressed his anger after seeing piles of dust and garbage in the dressing room, washroom, press box and the area adjacent to the stairs.

Due to the lack of suitable environment even in the intense heat, players were seen leaving the dressing room and going outside the field to rest.

The State Minister said although an inspection was conducted about two months ago and an order was given to remove the illegal structures and garbage from the roof of the stadium, no progress has been made due to the negligence of the administrator concerned.

As a result, immediate disciplinary action has been taken against him.

The State Minister assured that a full delegation of the National Sports Council (NSC) will conduct a detailed inspection of the stadium and start renovation, repair and cleaning activities quickly to restore the overall environment.

He also confirmed the decision to hand over the stadium to the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) in principle for its proper management and maintenance.

Stating that the government is working to restore a sports-friendly environment in the country by giving utmost importance to sports, the State Minister said that the NSC and the ministry are making every effort to restore the basic environment of the stadiums.

He called for the cooperation of all those involved in sports, including journalists, to inform them immediately if any irregularities or problems are noticed anywhere.
