Public won’t accept social instability, AZM Zahid says

Women and Children affairs, Social Welfare Minister Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has said that freedom of speech does not mean saying whatever one pleases. He stated that the public will not accept the creation of social instability through derogatory remarks and provocative statements.

He made these remarks on Wednesday afternoon at a discussion meeting held at the Diploma Engineers Institution in the capital’s Kakrail, marking the death anniversary of Shafiul Bari Babu, the former president of Swechchhasebak Dal.

The Social Welfare Minister stated that a certain group is attempting to pave the way for the rehabilitation of fascism by unnecessarily creating a volatile situation. He asserted that the BNP would respond to such malicious attempts on the streets.

He further stated that various conspiracies are being hatched against the BNP. Under these circumstances, he urged party leaders and activists to remain united and counter all such plots.

At the same time, he advised them to be cautious and refrain from any actions that could cast doubt on the party’s image.

Speaking at the meeting, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku remarked that the defeated forces of 1971 are taking advantage of the BNP’s magnanimity to engage in various conspiracies against the party.
