Multiple-case accused nabbed in Daudkandi

Police from Gouripur Police Investigation Centre arrested a multiple-case accused, Md. Mahbub alias Mahbub Samrat (34), along with a foreign pistol, a magazine, and three rounds of bullets from Thoirkhola area in Daudkandi on Wednesday.

Senior ASP (Daudkandi Circle) Md. Khalilur Rahman disclosed the matter at a press briefing on Thursday evening.

He stated that a police team led by Inspector Md. Saiful Islam conducted a drive based on secret information and apprehended Mahbub. During interrogation, Mahbub surrendered the firearm and ammunition tucked into his waist, which were seized around 4:00 PM in the presence of witnesses.

Police informed that Mahbub faces several drug and robbery cases and is the younger brother of the deceased criminal Mamun Samrat, who was accused in 34 cases.

Filing of a fresh case and further legal procedures are underway at Daudkandi Model Police Station.
