KBCCI hosts reception honour to newly appointed envoy
The Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KBCCI) hosted a reception in honour of H.E. Kim Ji-Joon, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, on Monday at a city hotel ,Dhaka.
In his address, Shahab Uddin Khan, President of KBCCI, reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea.
Welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador, he expressed his confidence that Ambassador Kim’s tenure would usher in a new chapter of enhanced bilateral relations and deeper economic partnership between the two friendly nations.
The event was graced by Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Secretary (Bilateral), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the Guest of Honour.
The reception was also attended by ambassadors and high commissioners from various countries, senior government officials, distinguished members of the diplomatic corps, prominent business leaders, and members of KBCCI.
In his keynote address, H.E. Kim Ji-Joon highlighted the long-standing friendship between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea.
He remarked, “Bangladesh has the potential to achieve ,in an even shorter period,the level of economic level orpiment that the Republic of Korea attained over the past 70years.”
He emphasized that by learning from Korea’s development experience and avoiding the mistakes made along the way, Bangladesh could accelerate its own path toward sustainable economic growth.
He further underscored the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, technology transfer, and joint ventures to foster long-term economic prosperity for both countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Md.Nazrul Islam highly appreciated the steadily growing economic and commercial relations between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea.
He emphasized the need to further expand bilateral cooperation through industrialization, technology transfer, investment promotion, and human resource development, while commending KBCCI for its significant contribution to strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
One of the highlights of the evening was the formal presentation of the prestigious Certificate of Merit, awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, to Shahab Uddin Khan, President of KBCCI. The certificate, signed by H.E. Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, was presented by H.E. Kim Ji-Joon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh.
The honour was conferred in recognition of Khan’s outstanding contribution to strengthening economic cooperation, promoting bilateral trade relations between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea, and supporting the diplomatic activities of the Republic of Korea.
On behalf of KBCCI, commemorative crests were also presented to H.E.KimJi-Joon and Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam in appreciation of their valuable contributions to fostering stronger Bangladesh-Korea relations.
The evening concluded with a networking dinner.”
