Bangladesh win Women’s Kabaddi test series

Bangladesh National Women’s Kabaddi team won the five-match bilateral Kabaddi test series with one match in hand beating touring Nepal National Women’s Kabaddi team by 34-22 points in the fourth match held on Tuesday at the National Kabaddi Stadium in the capital.

With this triumph, the hosts are leading the series 3-1.

Facing a must-win situation to keep the series alive, Nepal came out with aggressive intent from the opening whistle.

The visitors dominated the early exchanges and raced to an 8-4 lead in the first half.

However, Bangladesh quickly reduced the gap with a series of valuable bonus points before taking control through a combination of effective raids and solid tackles. The home side went into the halftime break with a 13-11 lead.

After the interval, Nepal attempted to stage a comeback, but Bangladesh’s disciplined tactical play proved too strong for them.

At one stage, Bangladesh executed a crucial super tackle to earn two points, extending the lead to 21-15.

Later, Meby Chakma produced a brilliant super raid, adding three more points to put the hosts in commanding position.

Bangladesh then inflicted an all-out on the visitors, taking complete control of the contest. The home side eventually cruised to a convincing 34-22 victory at the final whistle.

Brishty Biswas of Bangladesh was named the Player of the Match for her impressive performance in the match.

The last match of the series will be held on Thursday (July 23) at the same venue.
