2027 Hajj packages announced
The government on Tuesday announced the Hajj packages for 2027, setting the maximum package cost at Tk 6,15,263 and the minimum package cost at Tk 5,05,648 for pilgrims travelling under the government arrangement.
Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Mofazzal Hossain announced the packages at a press briefing at the Secretariat, saying the government has focused on making Hajj services more affordable and accessible.
Under the first government package, pilgrims will be accommodated within 1,000 to 1,400 metres of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and in the Markazia area of Madinah.
They will stay in Zone-2 tents in Mina, while services and meals in Mina and Arafat will be provided under Service Package-3 through authorised Moallems.
The expected duration of stay in Saudi Arabia will be 35 to 40 days, with options available for room upgrades or shorter stays by paying additional charges.
Under the second government package, pilgrims will stay within two to three kilometres of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and within 800 metres of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah outside the Markazia area.
Their accommodation in Mina will be arranged in Zone-5 tents. Shuttle bus services will be provided according to Saudi regulations if hotels are located more than two kilometres from the Grand Mosque.
For pilgrims travelling through private Hajj agencies, the standard package cost has been set at Tk 5,13,648, the minister said.
Under this package, accommodation must be arranged within three kilometres of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and within one kilometre of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.
A maximum of six pilgrims will be allowed in each room, while pilgrims will stay in Zone-5 tents in Mina. Services and meals in Mina and Arafat will also be provided under Service Package-3.
The minister said Salawat bus services will be mandatory if hotels are located more than two kilometres from the Grand Mosque.
Kazi Mofazzal Hossain said the government is implementing its election pledge to establish an affordable, accessible, humane and expatriate-friendly Hajj management system.
As part of the initiative, Hajj airfare has been reduced by Tk 24,830 from the previous year to Tk 1,30,000.
He said Hajj airfare was around Tk 2 lakh in 2023, was reduced to Tk 1,67,820 in 2025, and has now been further lowered for the 2027 pilgrimage season.
