Drugs seized from Titumir Express

The Railway Police of Santahar Railway Police Station under the Pakshi Railway District recovered 50 Tapentadol tablets (100 mg) and five narcotic ampoules during an anti-narcotics raid on the Titumir Express at Santahar Railway Station.

One person was arrested in connection with the incident.

According to a press release issued by the Pakshi Railway District Police on Monday, the operation was conducted on Sunday evening under the direction of Superintendent of Police Md. Mehedi Hasan and the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge of Santahar Railway Police Station.

The press release said police received confidential information that a passenger travelling on the Rajshahi-bound Titumir Express, after boarding the train at Chilahati, was carrying narcotic substances.

When the train arrived at Platform No. 3 of Santahar Railway Station, a police team led by SI (Unarmed) A.K.M. Fazlur Rahman carried out a search operation.

During the operation, officers noticed a ticketless passenger behaving suspiciously.

As his statements were inconsistent, police searched him in the presence of witnesses and recovered 50 Tapentadol tablets (100 mg) packed in five blister strips, along with five narcotic ampoules, concealed in the front left pocket of his jeans.

The recovered narcotics were seized, and the suspect was taken into custody.A case has been filed with Santahar Railway Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act (Case No. 02, dated 19 July 2026).

Superintendent of Police Md. Mehedi Hasan said special operations to prevent the transportation and trafficking of narcotics through the railway network would continue.
