Shilpakala reschedules Runa Laila tribute prog with flood relief initiative

A special event to honour legendary singer Runa Laila, originally scheduled to be held on July 18 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital, was postponed due to the country’s ongoing flood situation.

BSA has finally confirmed the official date of the event and has stated that the programme will take place on July 24. BSA has also announced that, alongside presenting the honour to Runa, the event will launch a fund to support people affected by the floods.

Organisers hope the initiative will encourage members of the cultural community and well-wishers to contribute to relief efforts for flood victims.
The programme will kick off at 6:30pm at BSA’s National Theatre Hall auditorium.
