Prime Bank, BERDO distribute Braille books

Prime Bank PLC has distributed 40 Braille books among visually impaired students as part of a partnership with the Blind Education and Rehabilitation Development Program (BERDO).

The initiative aims to improve access to learning materials and advance financial inclusion for persons with disabilities.

Prime Bank said the collaboration reflected its commitment to building an inclusive society where people have equal opportunities to learn, develop and participate in the formal banking system.

M M Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking at Prime Bank PLC, and Md Saidul Huq, Founder and Executive Director of BERDO, attended the distribution ceremony.

Speaking at the event, M M Mahbub Hasan said Prime Bank remained committed to advancing financial inclusion by providing persons with disabilities with accessible banking services, financial literacy and educational support.

He said meaningful inclusion could be achieved only when every individual had an opportunity to participate in the country’s economic development.

Md Saidul Huq thanked Prime Bank for supporting visually impaired students and promoting inclusive education and financial empowerment.

He said partnerships between financial institutions and social organisations played an important role in building a more equitable and financially inclusive society.

The initiative forms part of Prime Bank’s efforts to support underserved communities and expand access to education and financial services through partnerships across Bangladesh.
