



Five more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours until 8:00am Sunday, raising the combined death toll to 758, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the latest fatalities, one child from Dhaka had laboratory-confirmed measles, while the other four—two from Dhaka and one each from Sylhet and Barishal—died with symptoms consistent with the disease.
During the same period, the DGHS recorded 969 new suspected measles cases, including 90 laboratory-confirmed infections.
Since 15 March, the number of suspected measles deaths has reached 664, while 94 children have died after testing positive for measles.
The DGHS said 111,480 children have developed measles-like symptoms nationwide, while 13,500 have been confirmed with the virus, bringing the total number of affected children to 124,980.
