DU VC joins ACU meeting in London

University of Dhaka Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam left for London on Tuesday on a four-day official visit to attend the council meeting of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

During the visit, the DU Vice-Chancellor will take part in a roundtable discussion titled “Leading Universities through Transformation: What will Higher Education Leadership Require by 2035?”

He is scheduled to deliver a lecture highlighting the changing role of universities, leadership challenges in higher education, gaps in existing leadership development programmes, the need for diverse and inclusive leadership pathways, and the skills required for future university leaders.

Prof. Obaidul Islam will also attend the ACU Council Meeting, to be held in London on July 9-10.

On the sidelines of the meeting, he is expected to hold bilateral discussions with ACU officials and vice-chancellors of several renowned universities on issues related to higher education, research collaboration and scholarship programmes.

The Vice-Chancellor is expected to return to Bangladesh on July 12.
