



Pubali Bank PLC has organised an awareness programme titled “Cashless Dhanmondi” at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi to promote cashless transactions and expand the use of Bangla QR across the country.
The programme, organised on the initiative of the bank’s Dhanmondi branch, was held under the slogan “Transactions are going cashless, Bangladesh is moving forward”.
It focused on the convenience, security and financial inclusion benefits of cashless transactions, alongside the implementation of “One Country, One QR Transaction – Bangla QR”.
State Minister for Planning Md Jonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, Member of Parliament, attended the programme as chief guest.
Arief Hossain Khan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, and Md Abdul Halim Chowdhury, former Managing Director of Pubali Bank PLC, attended as special guests.
Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pubali Bank PLC, delivered the welcome speech.
The event was also attended by Md Shahnewaz Khan, Deputy Managing Director of Pubali Bank PLC; AKM Abdur Raqib, General Manager and Regional Head of Dhaka North Region; Md Rabiul Alam, Deputy General Manager and Head of Alternative Delivery Channel Division; as well as executives of the bank’s head office, customers and invited guests.
Speakers said, “By using Bangla QR, easy, safe and fast digital transactions can be made through different banks and mobile financial services using the same QR code.
The government is working to reduce the use of cash and develop a technology-based financial system. Pubali Bank’s ‘Cashless Dhanmondi’ initiative is commendable in implementing this goal, and such initiatives will further strengthen the country’s digital economy.”
After the discussion, the guests took part in an awareness campaign on cashless transactions and urged everyone to help expand digital payments through the use of Bangla QR.
