



Megasan Medical Industries Bangladesh Limited, a medical equipment manufacturing company established through a joint investment between Türkiye and Bangladesh, has officially commenced its operations.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Saturday, in Ishwardi, Pabna, marking the beginning of the company’s production activities.
The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, addressed the event virtually as the chief guest.
In his speech, he said that the local production of internationally standardized medical equipment would reduce Bangladesh’s dependence on imports, save foreign currency, and further strengthen and modernize the country’s healthcare sector.
The State Minister for Social Welfare, Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul, officially inaugurated the factory by unveiling its commemorative plaque. She later jointly inaugurated an exhibition of Megasan’s advanced medical equipment with Arif Çelektin, Chairman of Megasan Türkiye.
At the same event, Habibur Rahman Habib, Adviser to the BNP Chairperson and Convener of Pabna District BNP, together with Professor Dr. Kamrul Islam, a recipient of the Independence Award, jointly inaugurated the company’s Equipment Testing Laboratory.
Among those who spoke at the ceremony were Dr. Kabir Uddin Ahmed, Director General of the Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute; Monira Yasmin, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pabna; Pranab Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police; Hasan Md. Shoaib, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Ishwardi; and Advocate Masud Khandaker, Member Secretary of Pabna District BNP, among others. The event was chaired by Engineer Md. Nazmul Hasan, Managing Director of Megasan Medical Industries Bangladesh Limited. The welcome address was delivered by Wahidul Hasan Topi, Executive Director of Megasan Bangladesh.
Managing Director Engineer Md. Nazmul Hasan said that domestic production of internationally standardized medical equipment would significantly reduce import dependency, ensure faster technical support and maintenance services, and help conserve foreign exchange.
He further stated that the company aims to invest US$25 million in the factory by 2029. In the future, Megasan plans to manufacture most of its components locally and export “Made in Bangladesh” medical technologies to international markets.
The ceremony was attended by government officials, physicians, industrialists, investors, journalists, and people from various professions.
According to company sources, Megasan’s medical equipment has been used in hospitals across Bangladesh since 2007, having been manufactured in Türkiye.
After launching its operations in Bangladesh in 2018, the company completed the construction of its state-of-the-art assembly plant in Ishwardi in 2025.
The factory will manufacture and assemble a wide range of essential hospital equipment, including medical gas supply and pipeline systems.
