Five students to represent Bangladesh in International Economics Olympiad

A five-member student team from Bangladesh has been selected to participate in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026 which will be held in China.

These students, selected through a multi-stage selection process from various educational institutions in the country, will represent Bangladesh in this international competition. This information was given at a press conference organised at the National Press Club on June 22.

Bangladesh Economics Olympiad brand ambassador and media personality Md. Mansurul Haque said that the International Economics Olympiad is not just a competition, it is an important platform for young economists worldwide to showcase their skills and thinking, At the press conference.

He expressed hope that Bangladeshi students will further enhance the country’s image in the international arena through their talent, hard work and creative analytical skills. Al Amin Parvez, President of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Economics Olympiad, said that the importance of economic knowledge and policy analysis skills is increasing in the current world.

At the event, Bangladesh Economics Olympiad Chairman and eminent economist Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman said that by participating in the global competition, students will not only get the opportunity to gain knowledge, but will also be able to showcase the capabilities and potential of Bangladeshi youth in the international arena. According to him, such events play an important role in creating skilled economists and policymakers of the future.

Farabid bin Faisal, Fariha Tasnim, Zaif bin Morshed, Prant Ghosh and Faiyad Salehin Ahmed will represent Bangladesh in the International Economics Olympiad 2026 to be held in China.
