‘Youth must be protected from drugs’

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said that neighbouring countries are allegedly infiltrating drugs into Bangladesh through various means in an attempt to destroy the country’s young and future generations.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a football tournament held in Dainya Chowdhury West Para village of Tangail Sadar Upazila on Friday.

“If the youth society is destroyed, it will become easier to control them (by neighboring),” he said.

The next generations must be built as a drug-free youth society through sports,” said Tuku, who is also the lawmaker for the Tangail-5 constituency.

The football tournament was presided over by Lokman Hossain, former head teacher of Baghil K.K. High School.
