



The government remains committed to promoting local industries, creating employment opportunities and building a technology-driven economy, said Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Science and Technology Adviser Fakir Mahbub Anam.
Speaking at an exchange-of-views meeting with officials and employees after visiting the Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited (BCSL) plant in Khulna on Tuesday, he said the country’s industrial sector could reach new heights through the integration of skilled human resources, innovation and modern management practices. Khulna City Corporation Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju was also present at the event.
Highlighting the importance of domestic manufacturers, the adviser said local industrial enterprises play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh’s telecommunications infrastructure.
“Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited has been making significant contributions to the development of the country’s telecommunications and ICT sectors. The company must continue enhancing its technological capabilities and produce products that meet international standards,” he said.
Fakir Mahbub Anam noted that BCSL manufactures various types of cables and stressed the need for continuous technological upgrades to modernise production systems and remain competitive.
He also underscored the importance of effective planning, strong marketing strategies, efficient distribution systems and the development of a proactive marketing network to improve the company’s competitiveness.
The adviser urged employees to treat the organisation as their own, saying that such a sense of ownership is essential for institutional growth. He assured them that the government would take all necessary steps to support the development of Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited.
During the visit, he inspected the company’s production facilities, observed various stages of the manufacturing process and reviewed its overall operations. He emphasised the need to increase productivity, maintain quality standards and expand the use of modern technologies.
Praising the dedication, professionalism and efficiency of the company’s officials and employees, he called on everyone to work together for the organisation’s continued development.
Following the visit, the adviser planted a sapling of a native mango variety on the factory premises and released fish fry into the company’s pond.
