



Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has intensified efforts to improve road discipline in the capital, filing 2,880 cases against motorists and drivers for violating traffic regulations during a two-day enforcement drive.
The operations were carried out on Thursday and Friday across different areas of Dhaka, according to DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) NM Nasir Uddin.
During the drives, the highest number of cases-621-were recorded in the Mirpur zone. The Motijheel zone saw 483 cases, followed by Wari with 414, Uttara with 318, Gulshan with 263, Tejgaon with 246, Lalbagh with 215 and Ramna with 120 cases.
As part of the enforcement measures, police impounded 598 vehicles and towed away another 400 vehicles from various parts of the city.
The DMP official said such operations would continue as part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with traffic laws and maintain order on Dhaka’s roads.
