BCB announces BD squad for T20I series against Australia
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Thursday a 15-member squad for the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against the touring Australia. After the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh will face Australia in the upcoming T20I series.
The three-match T20I series will begin on June 17. The selectors have made several changes to the announced squad ahead of that series. Mohammad Saifuddin has been dropped from the squad.
In addition, two pacers, Ripon Mondal and Tanzim Hasan have not been included in the team due to injuries.
It is learned that Ripon Mondal has lost his place in the squad for the Australia series due to a groin injury.
Tanzim Hasan could not play in the last series due to a back injury. Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana, who played one T20I, have returned to the team in their place.
Regular Captain Litton Das will continue to lead the team. However, there has been a change in the vice-captaincy.
It is learnt that top-order batsman Saif Hassan is no longer interested in performing this duty. As a result, Tawhid Hridoy has been appointed as the new vice-captain.
All three matches of the T20I series will be played at the Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. The matches will be held on June 17, 19 and 21. Each match will start at 2:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
