US-Bangla to hold blood donation drive

US-Bangla Airlines is set to organise a voluntary blood donation programme involving its employees to mark International Blood Donor Day, underscoring its commitment to humanitarian service and social responsibility.

The initiative will be held on Sunday at the airline’s corporate office in Uttara, Dhaka, in collaboration with the Thalassemia Foundation, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

The programme aims to promote awareness about safe blood donation, encourage humanitarian engagement, and strengthen support for patients requiring regular blood transfusions, particularly those suffering from thalassemia.

The day-long event will begin with an awareness seminar from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Medical experts from US-Bangla Airlines and representatives of the Thalassemia Foundation will speak on the importance of safe blood supply, voluntary donation, and public awareness regarding blood-related health needs.

Following the seminar, the voluntary blood donation session will continue from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the same venue.

Officials said the initiative is expected to see enthusiastic participation from employees across departments, reflecting the airline’s efforts to contribute to life-saving humanitarian causes.
