Tigers-Aussies 2nd ODI today

After posting a thumping 86-run victory over Australia Cricket team in the first One Day International (ODI) match on Tuesday, the inspired Bangladesh Cricket team will face the Aussies in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur today.

The match will begin at 11:00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live. If the Tigers can win today’s match, they will win the three-match ODI series 2-0 remaining with one ODI in their hand. On the other hand, Aussies have no alternative but to win, if they want to keep their hope alive to avoid the defeat of the series.

Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead his side, while Captain of Australia Cricket team Josh Inglis will lead his team.

Returning after almost a long time, when Mosaddek came out to bat, the team lost 3 wickets for 34 runs after a good start. However, Mosaddek Hossain seemed to make it clear that there is no such thing as ‘pressure’ in his dictionary.

Putting aside all the pressure of returning to the team, losing wickets quickly, he batted brilliantly from the beginning and played a match-best innings of 86 runs. Then he also took 2 wickets with the ball. After the match, he told the press conference that this was his best innings playing under pressure.

Mosaddek came out to bat after the fourth wicket fell for 140 runs. Then he left the field with unbeaten on 86 runs off 70 balls. In this, Bangladesh’s capital was 286 runs.

Mosaddek Hossain said about such a performance under so much pressure, “This is my best match in such a pressure moment. The wicket since morning…, we were also discussing in the dressing room – it was a wicket of 300 to 320 runs. A very good batting wicket. But after our two wickets fell quickly, the situation became a bit difficult. Especially if Litton had not been out at that time, maybe we could have gone up to 300-320 runs.”

Mosaddek Hossain batted in such situations for Dhaka Abahani Limited many times in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). He came out in almost the same situation on Tuesday. When asked if it was easy to bat in this place, Mosaddek replied, “First of all, I am grateful to the team management.

The way they supported me, the way they gave me freedom before the game, that was very important for me. So after entering the field, it was not in my mind that I was back after a long time or anything else. I felt that I should play as the situation of the match demanded. I just tried to fulfill my responsibility.”
Despite performing consistently in the domestic league for the past four years, the door to the national team did not open. When asked about the disappointment at that time, Mosaddek Hossain said, “Of course there was disappointment. The time was not easy for me at all. Many may have seen my struggle, and many did not. But I always tried to be patient and did my job. I always had one thing in mind – whenever an opportunity came, I should make the most of it. Alhamdulillah, Allah the Almighty has given me much more than I expected.”
