Zubaida to inaugurate DU programme

Dr. Zubaida Rahman, renowned cardiologist and Vice President of Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF), is scheduled to visit the University of Dhaka (DU) today to inaugurate two programmes marking the 45th death anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman.

According to a press release issued by the foundation on Tuesday, ZRF has undertaken a month-long tree plantation campaign and the ‘Search for Future Scientists Science Fair 2026’ as part of the commemorative observance.

Dr. Zubaida Rahman has agreed to inaugurate both initiatives as the chief guest at 11:00am at the Central Gallery of the Department of Botany, Curzon Hall, University of Dhaka.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam is expected to attend the programme as a special guest.

The event will be presided over by ZRF Acting Executive Director Professor Dr Morshed Hasan Khan.
The foundation said the tree plantation programme and science fair are being organised to commemorate the 45th death anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman through activities focused on environmental awareness and scientific innovation among young people.
