Bangladesh women in final

Bangladesh Women’s Football team defeated Nepal Women’s Football team through a goal by Super Sub Sagorika to reach the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship.
Bangladesh defeated Nepal 2-1 in the first semi-final of the tournament held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, India on Wednesday.
The first half was locked 1-1.
Bangladesh fell behind after conceding a goal in the 23rd minute. Gita of Nepal put her team ahead using a corner kick of her teammate Dipa.
Bangladesh equalized in the first minute of injury time. Bangladesh’s biggest star Ritu Porna’s Olympic goal brought relief to the dugout of the green jerseys. Nepalese goalkeeper handled Ritu Porna’s extraordinary corner kick from the right wing. However, she could not stop it. The ball found the net after touching the goalkeeper’s hands.
Bangladesh women are going to play in the final for the third time in a row since the start of the SAFF Women’s Championship. The previous two times they defeated Nepal women in the final and they became champions. This time, Bangladesh has a mission to make a hat-trick to clinch the SAFF Women’s Championship title.
In the third minute of injury time of the second half, Bangladesh took the lead through a wonderful understanding between two substitutes, Shamsunnahar Junior and Sagorika. Shamsunnahar entered from the right side and fired the ball towards the goal. Sagorika made no mistake.
A Nepalese defender tried to stop her but could not. She pushed the ball into the net. Bangladesh went ahead 2-1.
Earlier, in the 36th minute, Bangladesh were saved when Preeti Rani’s shot from the in front of the Bangladesh D-box hit the goalkeeper Mile Akter’s hand and went back over the crossbar.
In the end, the first half of the first semi-final ended in a 1-1 draw with Bangladesh’s goal. Head Coach Peter Butler made two changes in the 40th minute.
The Bangladesh Head Coach increased the attacking edge by bringing in Shamsunnahar Junior in place of Sauravi Akand Preeti and Tohura Khatun in place of Umhela Marma. Towards the end, the coach brought in Anika and brought Sagorika onto the field. It was Sagorika who made Bangladesh happy to reach the final.
In the 47th minute, Rekha Paudel of Nepal took a shot that missed the Bangladesh goalkeeper and defenders. However, her shot hit the post and Bangladesh survived again. In the 78th minute, substitute Sagorika’s shot was incredibly saved by Nepalese goalkeeper Anjila.
With this, Nepal lost three consecutive matches to Bangladesh in international football.
