Advanced diagnostic tools vital for accurate disease diagnosis: CCC Mayor
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inaugurated a state-of-the-art 180-channel 3 Tesla MRI machine saying that advanced diagnostic equipment plays a vital role in ensuring accurate disease diagnosis and effective treatment at the Chattogram branch of Popular Diagnostic Center Limited on Wednesday.
Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that changing lifestyles have led to an increase in various diseases, making advanced diagnostic technologies indispensable in modern healthcare.
“There is no alternative to modern medical equipment for accurate disease diagnosis. The addition of this advanced MRI machine will significantly enhance healthcare services for the people of Chattogram,” he said. The mayor inaugurated the activities of the internationally standard ‘Magnetom Lumina Pro Edition’ 3 Tesla MRI machine, equipped with biometric technology and artificial intelligence, by cutting the ribbon as the chief guest at a ceremony held on Wednesday morning.
Popular Group Managing Director Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, CIP, attended the event as the special guest.
He thanked the authorities of Popular Diagnostic Center for introducing the latest MRI technology to improve medical services in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman said the new MRI machine would enable examinations of the brain and spine to be completed within just three to four minutes. MRI scans of other parts of the body will also take nearly half the time required by conventional machines.
He expressed hope that continued support and trust from the medical community and the people of Chattogram would allow the introduction of more advanced international technologies in the healthcare sector in the future.
Dr. Mostafizur Rahman also noted that approximately 26,000 officers and employees of Popular Group are currently engaged in providing healthcare services across the country.
The program was moderated by Wali Ashraf Khan, Senior Manager of Popular Diagnostic Center Limited, Chattogram Branch.
Among others present were Associate Professor and Neurosurgeon Dr. Moinuddin Md. Ilias, DGM of Popular Diagnostic Center’s Shantinagar Branch Md. Shahi Mahmud, Assistant Managers of the Chattogram Branch Sujan Kanti De and Ujjwal Barua, Assistant Manager (Marketing) Md. Belal Hossain, as well as consultants, officers, and employees of the organisation.
