Ali Akbar gets CID charge

DIG Ali Akbar Khan has been given the additional responsibility of leading the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as its acting chief.

The appointment was announced through a notification issued by Police Headquarters on Monday. A member of the 15th Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre, Ali Akbar joined Bangladesh Police in 1995 and has served in a range of key positions during his career.

Born in Chandpur on September 21, 1967, he has worked in Range Police, Police Headquarters and the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Police officials described him as an experienced officer with a long record in policing and public administration.

With his latest assignment, Ali Akbar Khan will oversee the CID’s ongoing activities related to criminal investigations and law enforcement.
