BD women lose to India women

Bangladesh Women’s Football team lost to India Women’s Football team 3-0 in their last Group-B match of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa of India on Sunday.

India led the first half 1-0.

India women played a better brand of football than their opponent Bangladesh women and won the match as they deserved it.

Pyari Xaxa of India put her team ahead by an angular shot in the 36th minute of the play.

Earlier, Anika of Bangladesh got an opportunity in the 27th but she failed to convert that.

After the lemon-break, Lynda of India made it 2-0 by a penalty shot in the 78th minute of the match.
Ritu Porna Chakma of Bangladesh struck a through towards the India goalmouth in the 57th minute but her Bangladeshi teammates failed to utilize the chance.

Malavika of India sealed the fate of the match (3-0) by scoring a goal in the 90th minute of the game.
Bangladesh will face Nepal in the first semi-final on June 3, while India will meet Bhutan in the second semi-final on the same day.
