Topu Barman excited before leaving the country to win against San Marino

The Bangladesh Football team have never played against a European team on European soil.

So Sheikh Jamal & Co.’s visit to San Marino is historic in the context of Bangladeshes football.

The Bangladesh Football squad left for San Marino on Ethiopian Airlines last afternoon.

Bangladesh will play against San Marino in a FIFA International Friendly match on June 6.

While leaving the country, experinced Bangladeshi footballer Topu Barman said at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday , “We are going to play in Europe for the first time.

So everyone is very excited. We want to give the countrymen an Eid gift by winning against San Marino.”

San Marino’s ranking is 211. They are the lowest team in Europe, according to the latest FIFA rankings.

Even though Bangladesh are thirty steps ahead, according to the latest FIFA rankings, but it will not be easy to win against a European team, Topu also knows that.

He said, “Actually, although they are behind in the rankings, many of their footballers play in Europe.

Again, they play with European teams. We will give our best against them.”

During Javier Cabrera’s tenure, Canadian expatriate footballer Syed Quazem Shah made his debut for the Bangladesh team.

However, he did not get the opportunity to play matches like that. Kazem is dreaming of a new dream under new Coach Thomas Dooley.

He said about the new Coach Dooley, “There is a slight difference from the previous coach. He works more on tactics.

He likes passing football and mixes freely with the footballers and gives them a little more freedom.”

The Bangladesh Football squad will arrive in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, from Dhaka. From there, they will have to catch another flight to Rome, Italy. San Marino is a small country.

Jamal & Co. will reach San Marino from Rome. Hamza Choudhury, Shamit Shome, Zayyan Ahmed will join the squad on June 2. In this context, senior footballer Topu Barman said, “There will be no problem with them coming late.

We have been playing together for a year. The understanding among us is quite good.”
