Young man hacked to death

Police have arrested a business partner in connection with the stabbing death of a young man in Kishoreganj ‘s Pakundia upazila on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Zubayed (24), son of Altaf Hossain of Charpalash village in Sukhia union of Pakundia upazila.

Zubayed was killed in an attack by miscreants on the road next to Shailjani Alim Madrasa on Friday night at 9.

Police said that on Saturday morning, with the help of information technology, the deceased’s business partner Rana (35) was arrested from the Shahedal area of the neighboring upazila Hossainpur with the help of information technology.

During initial interrogation, the police claimed that he confessed to his involvement in the murder.

Blood stains were found on the shirt he was wearing at the time and it was seized. The sharp weapon used in the murder was reportedly left in a nearby field.

According to locals, Zubayd worked as a battery supplier for autorickshaws of a company in addition to his bakery business. He was also involved in a chicken farm in his family. Accused Rana was his business partner.

Officer in Charge( OC, Investigation ) of Pakundia Police Station, Khokan Chandra Sarkar said that, police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNIMCH) morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed in this incident with Pakundia Police Station .
