‘We don’t need to carry around bodyguards’

It is often seen at any event or award ceremony of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association that someone brings a bodyguard with them.

Even though they are not well-known among the audience, many people keep a bodyguard with them.

Film star Bapparaj has criticised this. He is preparing to contest for the post of president in upcoming elections of Film Artistes’ Association.

Recently, while participating in a press conference, he spoke about the security of artistes and hiring bodyguards.

He said, “There was never much concern about the security of artists. However, security arrangements have been made recently.

Of course, in the past, security forces may have been brought in to assert their power. But our artistes do not need security.”
