BGB recovers drugs from Kushtia-Meherpur borders
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered Indian drugs and various smuggled goods worth more than Tk 38 lakh during separate anti-smuggling drives along the Kushtia and Meherpur border areas.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Kushtia Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal Rony, the operations were conducted on May 19 and May 20 based on specific intelligence information, reports BSS.
Patrol teams from Jamalpur, Thotarpara, Ashrayan, Udaynagar, Chalishpara and Shewratola Border Outposts (BOPs) under the Kushtia Battalion carried out special raids in several border areas.
During the operations, BGB personnel recovered a large quantity of Indian drugs and smuggled goods abandoned in fields, croplands and other deserted locations.
