N’ganj expanding digital land services to grassroots: DC
The district administration has been working tirelessly to expand digital land services to the grassroots level, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Rayhan Kabir has said.
Currently, services are being provided in Narayanganj through five upazila land offices, four revenue circles, and nine land service assistance centers, he told journalists on Sunday held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on the occasion of “Land Service Fair 2026.”
“Work is underway to gradually establish one assistance center in every union across the district,” he said.
He expressed hope that, with the cooperation of journalists, the message of the fair would reach the general public.
To encourage public participation in the fair, the district administration has arranged awareness campaigns at mosques and temples, leaflet distribution, banner displays, and public announcements through loudspeakers.
The Narayanganj district administration has cordially invited citizens from all walks of life to participate in the fair.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that a three-day “Land Service Fair 2026” will begin in Narayanganj to deliver citizen-friendly, transparent, and technology-based land services to people’s doorsteps.
Organized by the district administration under the directives of the Ministry of Land, the fair will be held from May 19 to May 21.
The main goal of the fair is to raise public awareness about the digitalization of land services and ensure fast and hassle-free service delivery for citizens.
He said the fair would play a vital role in ensuring transparent, easy, and modern land services. “We want people in remote areas to benefit from technology-based land services as well.
I hope that through this fair, service recipients will be able to receive their desired services easily and without any hassle,” he said.
The first day of the fair, May 19, a colorful rally will begin in the morning from the Upazila Land Complex premises adjacent to Khanpur Hospital in the city.
Local Members of Parliament, political leaders, teachers, journalists, government officials, representatives of civil society, and students will participate in the rally, he added.
On the same day at 10:30 am, the Prime Minister will virtually join the central inauguration ceremony at the Land Building in Dhaka and officially inaugurate the nationwide fair.
Afterwards, local MPs, along with district officials, will formally launch the fair in Narayanganj by releasing balloons and festoons at the venue.
The Narayanganj district administration has also taken extensive preparations for the fair. On May 18, a special quiz competition on land-related topics will be held for students.
Following the official inauguration on May 19, awareness programmes will be conducted.
On May 20, a seminar titled “Automated Land Management System: Changes, Development, and the Way Forward” will be held, where digital land management and future planning will be discussed in detail.
In addition, visitors to the fair will be able to receive several important services instantly, including online land development tax payment and e-mutation applications, compensation cheque distribution, certified copies of land records, mouza map assistance, online DCR services, and more.
During the fair, the public will also receive detailed information about e-mutation, DCR, obtaining land records, paying land development taxes, and the use of the land service call center “16122.” Visitors will also receive an informative booklet titled “Bhumi Amar Thikana.”
