SJIB Open & Junior Tennis begins today
The week-long Shahjalal Islami Bank Open and Junior Tennis tournament is scheduled to begin at the Ramna Tennis Complex in the city yesterday.
Over 170 players from across the country are expected to compete in eight categories in this knockout format tournament.
The eight categories are including men singles and doubles, and women singles and doubles, Under-16 boys and girls singles, and Under-12 boys and girls singles events.
The participating teams are: Ramna Tennis Complex, Bangladesh KriraShikkhaProtishtan, Jhalokathi Tennis Club, Rajshahi Tennis Club, Sylhet Tennis Club, Madaripur Tennis Club, Jamalpur Tennis Club, Magura Tennis Club, Shariatpur Tennis Club, Gulshan Youth Club, Gulshan Club, Uttara Club, Officers’ Club and Engineers Club amongothers.Bangladesh Travel Guide.
The state minister for youth and sports AminulHaque is expected to be the chief guest and handover the prizes among the winners in the closing ceremony at Ramna on May 20.
Bangladesh Tennis Federation general secretary Ishtiak Ahmed Karen disclosed details in the pre-tournament press conference at the Ramna Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
