CCC Mayor urges to speed up Indian visa application process

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has requested an increase in the rate and speed of issuing medical and tourist visas to facilitate travel to India.

The Mayor made the request during a courtesy call on the newly appointed Assistant High Commissioner of India in Chattogram, Shri Harish Kumar at the CCC office in Tiger Pass on Monday.

The Mayor said that a large number of people from Chattogram travel to India for medical treatment and tourism purposes. In particular, due to the presence of Ajmer Sharif, Nizamuddin Auliya (R.) Dargah, the Taj Mahal in Agra, and various Hindu pilgrimage sites, many people travel to India every year.

He urged the authorities to take necessary steps to increase the rate and speed of issuing medical and tourist visas for the convenience of the people of Chattogram.

Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain also briefed the Indian Assistant High Commissioner on CCC’s civic service activities, development projects, and future plans. During the meeting, discussions were held on friendly relations between the two countries, increasing trade and cultural exchanges between India and Chattogram, and various aspects of mutual cooperation.

Shri Harish Kumar appreciated the Mayor’s development initiatives for Chattogram and assured that the matter would be looked into seriously. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Chief Executive Officer of CCC.

At the end of the meeting, the Mayor presented a memento to the Assistant High Commissioner.
