Islami Bank facilitates loan disbursement in Pirojpur

Bangladesh Bank has launched an open investment disbursement programme in Pirojpur.

The programme targets marginal and landless farmers, low-income professionals, and small businesspeople. Its aim is to expand access to finance at the grassroots level.

The initiative was organized under the Bangladesh Bank’s refinance scheme.

It was implemented through the lead bank system and managed by Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

Hasan Kazi Taufikur Rahman, Additional Director of Financial Inclusion, served as the chief guest at the event.

Special guests included Md Firoz Ahmed, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank.

Also present were Md Zillur Rahman Patwary, Executive Vice-President of Islami Bank, and Sardar Md Zahid Hossain, Deputy General Manager of Sonali Bank PLC’s Pirojpur Principal Office.

The programme was presided over by the Head of Islami Bank’s Barishal Zone.
