NCP announces nominations in Nilphamari

Sarjis Alam, Chairman of the Central Local Government Election Management Committee of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced a list of 100 candidates for Upazila Chairman and Municipality Mayor posts across the country. As part of the announcement, candidates for two key upazilas in Nilphamari district have been finalized.

According to the declaration, the party’s District Member Secretary, Dr. Kamrul Islam Darpan, has received the nomination for Nilphamari Sadar Upazila. Meanwhile, the party’s Joint Chief Organiser for the Northern Region, Abu Sayeed Leon, has been nominated for Jaldhaka Upazila.

Local people from various walks of life have responded positively to the announcement. Those welcoming the nominations include Mohammad Mohsin Ali, a member of Kochukata Union Parishad; farmers Mohammad Zahidul Islam Babu and Elias Ahmed from Angarpara village in Kundapukur Union; businessman Mohammad Sadikul Islam from Panchpukur Union; veteran politician A K M Hamidul Islam Kiran; and social worker Mohammad Siddik Ali.

They expressed hope that if elected, the nominated candidates will play an important role in the development and welfare of the region.
