Schoolboy died in Bhairab by anto-rickshaw
A sixth-grade student was crushed to death by a anto-rickshaw in Bhairab of Kishoreganj on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred in the Nabipur area of Aganagar Union under Bhairab Upazila.
The deceased, Md. Tajim (12), son of Hossain Miah of Haji Bari in Nabipur village, was a sixth-grade student of the local Yogendra Chandra High School.
According to locals, Monir Hossain went to a field with some children and teenagers to collect almond tree branches.
Later, while returning home after loading the vehicle with the branches, Tajim fell from the vehicle and was run over by the wheels due to the jolting of the tom-tom, resulting in a serious head injury.
Locals rescued him in critical condition and took him to Bhairab 100-bed Government Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Regarding the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bhairab Model Police Station Asibul Haque Bhuiyan said that upon receiving the information, police recovered the body from the hospital and brought it to the police station.
Later, the body was sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. He added that necessary legal action will be taken based on the complaint of the victim’s family.
