Bulbul, Nripendra to get Bangla Academy’s Rabindra Award

Bangla Academy has announced Professor Nripendra Lal Das and noted Tagore artiste Bulbul Islam as recipients
of ‘Rabindra Award 2026’.

According to a press release signed by Bangla Academy Director General Prof Mohammad Azam on Thursday, Prof Das will receive the award for his contributions to Rabindranath Tagore research, while Bulbul Islam is being recognised for his work in Rabindra Sangeet.

The awards will be presented on May 11 during a programme organised by Academy to mark the 165th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
