Bangladesh participates at South Asia Trade Fair in Kathmandu
Bangladesh is set to participate in the five-day South Asia Trade Fair 2026, beginning on today at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu, Nepal.
A total of 24 companies from Bangladesh, representing a broad spectrum of industrial and cottage sectors, will take part in the exhibition, reports BSS.
The participants will showcase a wide range of products, including textiles and apparel such as boutique items, ready-made garments, Jamdani and silk sarees, as well as knitwear.
In addition, handicraft products including jute goods, NakshiKantha, and other traditional crafts will be displayed. Specialized items such as baby care products, plastic toys, and leather goods will also feature prominently.
The fair is being organized by Introduction Trade Shows Nepal Pvt. Ltd., with Bangladeshi companies participating under the supervision of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of the Ministry of Commerce.
First Secretary of the Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal, GolamMostafa, expressed optimism that the exhibition will enhance consumer awareness and promote the quality of Bangladeshi products.
He added that the event will encourage business communities through production-based participation, facilitate exploration of new markets, and create broader trade and investment opportunities across the region.
More than 150 exhibitors are expected to participate in the fair, which is likely to attract around 100,000 local visitors, along with approximately 5,000 international business delegates. Participating countries include India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Nepal.
Notable Bangladeshi participants include Pentagon Industries Limited, Helena JamdaniGhar, and Jute Fusion BD.
Other exhibitors such as Aman Plastic Toys Industries, along with boutique houses like Butterfly Fashion and Tanisha’s Sense of Fashion, will also join the fair to explore regional market opportunities.
The event is supported by several regional trade bodies, including the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Meanwhile, eTicketNepal.com and Biratbazar are serving as the official online and B2B partners for the event.
