Zeba Jannat in controversy for ‘Contract Marriage’
Controversy is growing over Hasan Jahangir’s movie ‘Contract Marriage’. After the release announcement, actress Moushumi has raised allegations that she worked in it as a drama, not
a movie. She claimed that the matter is a fraud.
After Moushumi’s allegations, small screen actress Zeba Jannat, who is featured in the movie’s poster, has raised new allegations about the movie ‘Contract Marriage’. She said that she has not worked in any drama or movie with this title.
On Monday, director Hasan Jahangir released poster of ‘Contract Marriage’. In both posters, Zeba Jannat is seen with Moushumi and Hasan Jahangir.
In the meantime, controversy has spread about the movie. Many people have made negative comments about Zeba Jannat for acting in such a controversial movie. So, Zeba shared the post on Facebook and said that she has not acted in any movie.
Zeba Jannat in this regard said, “I don’t know anything about movie ‘Contract Marriage’. Close friends sent me pictures and asked if I acted in it or not. To clear up the confusion of the audience, I have informed them that I have not acted in any movie.” Zeba Jannat said she was embarrassed to see her picture on the poster.
She said, “I am not involved in this movie. I have not worked with Hasan Jahangir Bhai for a long time. I last acted in a seven-episode serial of Boishakhi TV under his direction. My co-artiste there was Siam Mridha. That footage might be used in the movie.
If that is the case, then how is the footage of a drama used in the movie! How does it get censored again! I am embarrassed to see myself on the poster.
I want to make it clear that I have not done any work titled ‘Contract Marriage’, nor have I been paid any remuneration for doing the movie. Even permission was not taken before using the picture on the poster. Footage or pictures should not be used without informing anyone.”
When contacted about Zeba Jannat’s allegations, Hasan Jahangir tried to avoid the issue. He only said, “I spoke to Zeba Jannat. She is saying this because she was a victim of trolls after the poster was released.”
