BGB seizes 100,000 yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 100,000 yaba tablets in three separate anti-narcotics operations along the Ukhiya and Teknaf borders in Cox’s Bazar.
The drives were conducted on May 4 by Ukhiya Battalion (64 BGB) based on specific intelligence and technological surveillance, according to a BGB press release.
In Palongkhali, the BGB personnel in two drives recovered 70,000 pills from Ulubonia Majherkati and 10,000 pills from Ulubonia Paschimpara Bridge, reports BSS.
Another operation by Whykong BOP seized 20,000 pills from the Karengaghona area.
The value of the seized Yaba is Taka 3 crore.
The seized narcotics are being processed for handover to the relevant authorities following legal procedures.
Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Md. Zahirul Islam said BGB remains firm in preventing drug trafficking alongside its border security duties, adding that such operations will continue.
