Govt to introduce smart primary education system

The government is working to develop a safe, modern and technology-based education system for all children in the country, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has said.

He made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a review meeting on development projects under the Directorate of Primary Education held at its conference room on Tuesday morning.

“The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is committed to building an inclusive and smart primary education system suited to the present era.” he said
Emphasising digital transformation in education, he said the future system will be fully technology-driven, where teaching management, smart assessment and school administration will be integrated into a single digital platform.

The State Minister also highlighted that priority is being given to improving foundational literacy and numeracy, along with enhancing students’ reading, listening and speaking skills.

He instructed officials to ensure transparency, accountability and timely implementation of all ongoing projects.

The meeting was informed that 13 new development projects have been taken for the modernisation of primary education, including school infrastructure development, renovation of dilapidated buildings, classroom facilities for pre-primary students, expansion of mid-day meal programmes and solar electrification in remote schools.

Other initiatives include upgrading training institutes, developing model primary schools at union level and implementing the upcoming Primary Education Development Programme (PEDP-5).

Senior officials of the ministry and directorate also attended the meeting and discussed implementation and monitoring strategies.
