Tigresses’ do-or-die 2nd T20I against Lanka women today

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team will face off Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket team today in their do-or-die second Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

The match will kick-off at 1:30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team Nigar Sultana will lead her side, while Captain of Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket team Chamari Athapaththu will lead her team.

Earlier, the Tigresses lost to Sri Lanka women by 25 runs in the first T20I at the same venue on April 28. If Bangladesh women lose to Sri Lanka women, Bangladesh will taste series defeat to Lanka women.

On the other hand, if Bangladesh post victory in today’s match, Bangladesh women will keep their hope alive to avoid the series defeat. Bangladesh have to win today’s match to save them from defeat. So, the today’s clash is do-or-die match for the Tigresses.

The third and final T20I will be held at the same venue on May 2.
Though Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka in the first T20I but Bangladesh had some success in that match. Fourth-down Shorna Akter of the home side sparkle with the willow. She notched up a superb 60.

She hit two sixes and four fours in her 45-ball innings. She was unfortunately run out by Kavisha Dilhari.
Besides, Sultana Khatun bagged two wickets in the space of 29 runs.
