No woman wants to be a trophy: Preity

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) means the vibrant presence of Punjab Kings owner Preity Zinta in the gallery.

Recently, a netizen made a sarcastic comment on social media, calling her the ‘trophy’ of Punjab Kings.

Preity did not remain silent on such comments. She participated in a Q&A session with fans on X (formerly Twitter), where, in response to a comment describing her as a ‘trophy’, she clarified why it is problematic to label women like that.

Preity responded, “Thank you, it may be very sweet, but honestly, no woman wants to be a trophy.

Trophies can be bought, not women! Trophies are kept in glass cabinets. And a woman’s place is not in a glass cabinet, but in your life and in your heart.”
