1st T20I against Kiwis: Hridoy hits sparkle half-century
Second-down Tawhid Hridoy hit a sparkle half-century against New Zealand in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Monday. Hridoy notched up an unbeaten 51.

His 27-ball innings was ornamented with three huge sixes and two fours. It was Tawhid Hridoy’s sixth T20I fifty. He played 58 T20I matches. His highest score is 83 (not out).
Hridoy played the key role to chase the fighting total of New Zealand. The Kiwis scored 182 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Bangladesh lost their early three wickets for 77 runs. Then, Hridoy and third-down Parvez Hossain Emon put up together 57 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Emon was caught at the long-off by Tim Robinson off Josh Clarkson when the scoreboard giving a reading of 134 for the loss of four wickets.
Parvez Hossain Emon hammered 28 from 14 deliveries with two shots over the fence and one shot through the rope.
After Emon’s departure, Tawhid Hridoy and fourth-down Shamim Hossain contributed together 49 runs in the unbroken fifth wicket partnership to reach the winning target.
The target was 183 to win and the plucky Tigers sailed home when they had two overs to spare.
Shamim Hossain remained unbeaten with 31. His 13-ball knock had two sixes and three fours.
