BD women to meet S’pore in semi-final

Bangladesh Women’s Hockey team will meet Singapore Women’s Hockey team today in the semi-final of the Women’s Asian Games Hockey Qualifier at Jakarta in Indonesia.

It may be mentioned that Bangladesh women and Singapore women have already qualified for the upcoming Asian Games Hockey Competition, which will be held in Japan in September-October this year.

Bangladesh women emerged the Pool-A champions bagging seven points from three matches.

On the other hand, Singapore women became Pool-B runners-up collecting six points from three matches.

On way to semi-final, Bangladesh settled for a 5-5 goals draw with Chinese Taipei in their first Pool-A match on April 23.

Bangladesh defeated Uzbekistan by 3-2 goals in their second Pool-A match on April 24.

The red-and-green out-fit beat Hong Kong, China by 2-1 goals in their third Pool-A game on April 26.

Singapore women edged past Sri Lanka 2-1 in their first Pool-B match on April 23.

Singapore retained their winning streak after beating Kazakhstan 2-1 in their second Pool-B match on April 24.

Singapore tasted a 0-2 goals defeat to Indonesia in their third Pool-B match on April 26.
