Actor Tapan passes away

Television and film actor Tariquzzaman Tapan passed away on Friday at 8:05pm at his residence in Aftabnagar, Dhaka. He was 60. He is
survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son.

Tapan had been battling cancer for a long time. His condition had recently deteriorated, and he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in the capital.

Doctors later informed the family that no further treatment was possible.

He was brought home on Friday afternoon, where his condition worsened before his passing later that night.

His funeral prayers were held at Parshinagar Jame Mosque in Aftabnagar, after which his body was taken to his village home in Dhanbari, Tangail, for burial.

Once a familiar face on both television and film, Tapan was known for his effortless performances, particularly in comedic roles. His notable film credits include ‘Alta Banu’, ‘Thikana’, and ‘Ja Chhilo Andhokare’.

On television, he appeared in dramas such as ‘Jora Shalik’, ‘Hatchhani’, ‘Alape Golpe’, and ‘Mrittikar Jatra’.
