BD women face Korea Republic in Asian Games today
Bangladesh Women’s National Football team will face strong Korea Republic in their second Group F match of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 today at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan.
The match kicks off at 1pm Bangladesh time.
Bangladesh Women’s National Football team held their final training session at J-GREEN SAKAI as they prepared for their second Group match against Korea Republic.
Prior to the second match, center back Sheuli Azim said the team had gained a clear understanding of the areas that need improvement after their disappointing performance against DPR Korea in the opening match.
“It gave us a clear understanding of the areas where we need to improve. We’ll try not to repeat the small mistakes we made in the previous match,” Sheuli said in a video message on Wednesday.
“We conceded 10 goals in the previous match, so our focus will be on reducing the number of goals in the next match. Our next opponent is also a very strong team. We’ll try to keep the number of goals conceded as low as possible. Ideally, we would not concede any goals, but we’ll do our best,” she continued.
Sheuli said both DPR Korea and Korea Republic are strong teams and their pace and speed would pose a major challenge for Bangladesh.
“Although there may be some differences between the two teams, their pace and speed will be a big challenge for us. We are trying to play our own game and perform according to our strengths,” she added.
Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a heavy 10-0 defeat to DPR Korea in their opening Group F match.
