What Puja Cherry says about her father’s arrest in embezzlement case

Dhallywood actress Puja Cherry’s father Dev Prasad Roy has been arrested and sent to jail on charges of embezzling Tk 13 crore in the name of film production.

The actress is not involved in this incident in any way. She has clarified her position on social media.

Puja wrote in her Facebook status, “The recent arrest of my father Dev Prasad Roy and allegations regarding financial transactions have created an undesirable situation.

Various media workers are asking about these incidents through phone calls and messages. I want to clarify my position to avoid confusion in the overall situation.”

Puja has a career spanning almost a decade. During this time, she has never been involved in such an incident. She wrote, “I personally have no involvement in the allegations against my father.

I have been working in the media for 10 to 12 years and have been supporting my career and living expenses completely by myself through hard work.”

Clarifying her position, the actress also wrote, “I have no connection whatsoever with any of my father’s business activities or financial transactions.

I am not even currently associated with the ownership of any production house or production company.”

Puja said that as an artiste, she has always received love and respect from the audience in her long career. But mentioning that such an incident in her family is painful for her.

In this regard, she wrote, “This situation arising from being a family member is mentally painful for me, but this is purely her personal legal matter. The law will take its own course and the truth will be revealed.”
