AL regime: Govt to draft white paper on edu sector

The government is set to prepare a white paper to examine corruption and irregularities in the education sector during the 2008-09 to 2024-25 fiscal years, announced Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Thursday.

While the investigation’s scope is extensive, no specific timeline has been set for the white paper’s release, the minister noted in a written response to MP ShamsurRahman Shimul Biswas, who had raised concerns in Parliament about potential corruption under the previous government.

The education minister confirmed that the Ministry of Education has instructed relevant authorities to review issues related to irregularities, corruption, and management failures in the sector.

He added that the white paper’s publication would depend on the completion of the investigation and analysis of the gathered data, but no date could be set yet due to the broad scope of the inquiry.

Once the investigation is finished, the government will take necessary steps to gradually prepare and release the white paper.
