Mangeshkar family plans 1000-bed hospital to honour Lata, Asha

In a tribute to legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, their brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar has announced plans to build a large hospital in their memory.

The project, named the LataAsha Mangeshkar Institute of Medical Sciences, is expected to be one of the largest hospitals in Asia. It will be built on a 40-acre site in Nandoshi on Sinhagad Road.

The hospital will include a 1000-bed surgical super-speciality unit and modern medical facilities.

The total construction area will be around 22.5 lakh square feet. The hospital will treat both human patients and small animals.
